COPENHAGEN, DK / ACCESS Newswire / October 5, 2026 / Unrealfund, a Copenhagen-based micro private equity firm, today announced that fashion designer Annette Stenstrøm is developing Closet Match, an AI-powered personal styling platform, with support from the Unrealfund Accelerator. Closet Match is designed to help users create outfit combinations from clothing they already own.

Closet Match users upload photos of items in their wardrobe. The platform then analyzes those items along with the user’s personal style, preferences, lifestyle and upcoming occasions, and suggests outfit combinations. It is intended to help users make use of pieces they own but rarely wear.
Stenstrøm developed the concept from her experience in the fashion industry, where she observed that consumers often buy new clothing when their existing wardrobes could meet their needs.
“As a fashion designer, I have seen a clear need for a solution like this,” said Annette Stenstrøm, founder of Closet Match. “We often buy new clothes because we lack inspiration, not because we truly need more. Closet Match helps users understand what they already own, make smarter purchasing decisions and get greater value from every item in their wardrobe.”
The platform also includes a purchasing feature. When Closet Match identifies a gap in a user’s wardrobe, it can suggest items that complement several pieces the user already owns and indicate where a suitable item can be purchased. These suggestions are based on how a new item would fit into the existing wardrobe and how many additional outfit combinations it could create.
Planned Development
Future versions of Closet Match may include additional factors in outfit recommendations, such as a user’s calendar, local weather, preferences and wearing habits.
“Our long-term vision is for Closet Match to become a trusted digital wardrobe and personal styling platform that knows each user’s style, lifestyle and needs,” said Stenstrøm. “At its core, Closet Match is built around one simple idea: perhaps we do not own too little, we have simply forgotten how many beautiful things we already have.”
Development Through the Unrealfund Accelerator
Stenstrøm has a background in fashion design rather than software development. Through the Unrealfund Accelerator, she has used AI-assisted development tools to build Closet Match. She receives technical and commercial guidance from Unrealfund co-founders Mads Andreas Olesen and Christian Madsen, and Christian is leading development of the app.
“Unrealfund has played an important role in bringing Closet Match to life,” said Stenstrøm. “After I got admitted to the Unrealfund Accelerator, I was able to turn my idea into something tangible, and the energy and encouragement inspired me to think bigger and believe that Closet Match could become a real, functioning product rather than remain just an idea.”
“Mads and Christian have supported me throughout the entire process with guidance, knowledge and encouragement,” Stenstrøm added. “Christian, who is building the app, has been incredibly patient and supportive, answering my many questions, often late in the evening, and helping turn my vision into a real product. I feel very fortunate to have such a strong team around me, and I am learning a great deal along the way!”
The Unrealfund Accelerator works with founders who have expertise in a specific industry or problem. It trains them to build software products using AI-assisted development and provides support in product strategy, commercialization and go-to-market planning.
“Annette is exactly the kind of founder we built the accelerator for: deep fashion expertise, a clear problem from her own industry, and the drive to turn it into a real product,” said Mads Andreas Olesen, Co-founder of Unrealfund. “Closet Match shows how AI-assisted development lets domain experts ship software without starting as engineers, and we’re proud to support her as she brings that vision to market.”
